The sound just doesn't add to the scene at all

The Muzzle Flash
I practiced creating a muzzle flash by finding footage of a muzzle flash with a green screen background and overlaying it into after effects. Firstly I removed the green screen background using the Keylight Effect (as pictured after the blood splatter paragraph as I used it in that as well). To use Keylight to remove a green screen or blue screen, etcetera etcetera, you first search for Keylight in the effect search bar and hold click and drag it to the asset that has a green screen in it either in the time line or the preview screen once, it is added you used the pipet tool to choose the colour you want to remove as it is so much easier than having to select the exactly right colour and then use the sliders so as much of the asset you want is there as all of the green or blue background is gone, use the feathering slider to feather the asset out more so it has a bit of glow to it. To make the flash seem more realistic I highlighted some areas so that they get brighter from the muzzle flash or at least appear to. The problem I encountered is how realistic the muzzle flash looks, it just looks like a white shape emerging form the barrel that I have made. To improve this I decided to go searching for a much more realistic muzzle flash and use that instead. Another problem which I encountered is that The layer the muzzle flash is on, as the gun prop is way to close to the actor the muzzle flash would either look like the shot missed or the muzzle flash is to small so that it isn't on top of the actor, but the effect only lasts for one frame so hopefully it goes by way to quickly for people to notice or care. I added a few sound effects to improve the effectiveness for this effect. First was the gun cocking before it is fired that happens a split second before the gun is fired. Another sound effect is the gunshot itself this happens at the exact same frame as the muzzle flash appears, the shot rings out a bit and continues when the screen cuts to black. The final sound effect I used was the sound of a flock of birds flying away this occurs on the same frame as the gunshot sound effect and the muzzle flash.
The Blood Splatter
This pretty follows the same technique as the muzzle flash, find a asset that fits in well for the shot, download it and add it onto the top layer of the scene, take away the green screen background with the Keylight effect and place the effect into the right position. I found this much more difficult than the muzzle flash because of the fact that I needed to line up the blood splatter with the muzzle flash and gun prop and also the blood splatter needs to stay on screen for longer but this also causes problems as the actor didn't react at all to being shot, which is highly unlikely as if you were shot in the back of the head, you would fall over forwards because of the impact and force of the bullet, or at least that is what I think, but this is not as bad as I first thought as the effects cuts to black after only a few seconds. If you want to know how to use the Keylight effect tool to remove one colour backgrounds look at the block of text above as if I write it here as well I will just be repeating myself.

How did you set up the equipment?
When we arrived at each location we removed the equipment from their bags and set them up the way we had be told. The most difficult equipment to set up was the sound kit since there was so much to it but we didn't extend the pole until everything that need to be attached to it was attached to it like the mic and mic holder. The tripod was simple enough just extend the legs and separate them. The camera need to be turned on ready to record and placed securely onto the tripod.
How did you follow the script/storyboard?
We had the script, storyboard and shooting script with us everywhere we filmed so we could follow them as we filmed the opening. Reading them every time we needed reminding of what is happening during a scene.

How did you check the equipment was working?
With the sound kit after completely setting it up to test it one of us in the group put them on and got someone to speak clearly into the mic and if came up loud and clear we moved on to recording the scene after checking the camera is functioning well. If the sound wasn't working which it never did during our time using it I, since I was in charge of the sound kit, made sure that the phantom mode setting was on and it was recording through the right microphone since that is everything I was told to do.
Feedback Review
During the feedback lesson I had received numerous feedback on my opening mostly improvements which is a good thing because I felt it was far from perfect and having another person's point of view is a great idea because I may be too blind to see how flawed my edit was.
What could I cut from the edit to make it shorter?
The dark room scene, someone suggested that I cut this from the opening but I feel it is too important a scene to remove. But I do see their point as equipment like lighting, wires and outlet plugs can easily be seen in the background.
Another scene that I could cut out is the main character waking up which I agree with because it took a lot of time and was pretty much unnecessary when a time skip could be added instead. Also since I played the main character I would also want to remove it because for me it is incredibly cringeworthy for me.

What are the Legal Issues
with our crime drama opening?
Since it is a crime drama about mostly drug crimes it will inflict into legal issues, as drug crimes are a big problem throughout the world. The opening also contains a murder scene, violence and a torture scene all of these are serious issues and all of them are illegal for obvious reasons so these would also inflict on legal issues because they are all illegal and might cause people who watch the opening to commit these crimes. There is also a bit of use of weapons involved with our opening like a gun and a drill for the torture scene so these would also inflict on legal issues because public use of firearms are illegal throughout the world.
How do we resolve these
issues?
We can resolve them by making putting in a warning before the sequence, or if it were to be played on T.V. have the announcer of the channel say that the following programme is not real and not for young developing minds that may think committing this crimes are the right thing to do. Also having episodes of the series be aired at post-watershed times so young children are less likely to see the programme.
What are the Ethical issues
with our crime drama opening?
Our crime drama opening would inflict on ethical issues because the main character is seen committing murder and being very violent and as main characters are often portrayed as being a hero and often heroes are the sense of right and justice, people may see that what this main character does as being good and confuse their morals and judgement.
How do we resolve these
issues?
Since the series is being aired at post-watershed times children, who more often than have not yet learned what is immoral/moral, are much less likely to see the events of this crime drama series. Also we should present the events of this programme as being immoral but most people who would watch this crime drama series would already know what is moral or immoral.
